The Council will also be announcing further celebrations and activities in the lead up to the big weekend, which will also see boats from Lowestoft and Pakefield join the huge Jubilee flotilla on the Thames.

Pakefield’s Pontins Holiday Park has been a hit with tourists for decades, and while it’s still a great place to stay, more modern parks have been growing in popularity in recent years.

Pontins has just unveiled plans for a £25million makeover for its camp in Prestatyn, Wales, and Pakefield tourism insiders are seeing this as a sign that Pontins may have big plans for the Pakefield site.

The Prestatyn makeover is intended to bring “a touch of Disney magic” to the park, after the Pontins group was bought by Britannia Hotels. The new owners want to make the Pontins brand one of the cornerstones of the British holiday and leisure world, and are putting their money where their mouth is.
